In the first quarter of 2023, the top 5 social networking applications on the iOS platform in the Netherlands have shown diverse performance trends. Here's a closer look at the weekly downloads, revenue, and active user metrics for each app, based on data from Sensor Tower.

WhatsApp Messenger saw a notable fluctuation in weekly downloads, starting with approximately 19.5K in late December and peaking at around 33.4K in the first week of January. By the end of March, downloads settled at around 19.4K. Weekly active users remained relatively stable, averaging around 5M throughout the quarter. The app generated minimal revenue, with a slight uptick to $7 in the last week of March.

BeReal: Photos & Friends Daily experienced a decline in weekly downloads, starting from approximately 16.8K in late December and decreasing to about 5.4K by the end of March. Active users also showed a downward trend, dropping from around 709K to 567K over the same period.

Facebook demonstrated consistent performance in weekly downloads, maintaining figures between 6.9K and 9.3K. The app's weekly revenue peaked at roughly $2.6K in mid-January and fluctuated around $1.4K to $1.9K for the rest of the quarter. Active users slightly decreased from approximately 1.46M in late December to 1.39M by the end of March.

Telegram Messenger showed a steady download rate, ranging from about 7.1K to 9.7K throughout the quarter. Revenue saw significant spikes, reaching around $6.2K in late February. Active users increased from approximately 440K in late December to 469K in early March but slightly declined to 447K by the end of the month.

Google Meet had a varied download trend, starting at approximately 2.5K in late December and peaking at around 8.7K in early March. Active users showed a gradual increase from about 12.7K to 14.8K over the quarter.
